Arica and the highplateau

(3 days / 2 nights)
Arica is the most northern city of Chile, at only 18 km. from the Peruvian border and 180 km. from the Bolivian border, popular for its international atmosphere and nice beaches. There are also excellent archaeological and historical sites, like el Morro de Arica (Arica's Hill), where one of the most famous battles of the "War of the Pacific" took place with Peru in 1880, when Arica became part of the Chilean Republic. From Arica it's possible to visit The Lauca National Park in the Altiplanico (High plateau), surrounded by volcanoes, mountains and beautiful lakes, the natural habitat of guanacos, Llamas, Alpacas, Vicuñas and other birds like Ducks and Flamencos.
