Glaciers in Patagonian

Five centuries of infinite exploration, myths, legends, tragedies and triumphs have left an image and aura of the Patagonia in our collective consciousness. The Patagonia is placed in the extreme south of the American Continent, the end of the Earth.
The Patagonia is the scenery of great adventures in the world's history, but today is no longer an unknown land, and even if you can find unexplored points, the most of its extended territory is accessible for the average tourist. It goes from the South of Puerto Montt through a territory that covers over 2000 linear kilometers, for the extension we divide it in North and South Patagonia.
The North Patagonia imposes itself with a landscape where the touristic attractions invite to enjoy an extraordinary natural condition and outdoors activities. Fly-Fishing, rafting and trekking Paradise. The virgin beauty that possesses converts it in one of the most dashing zones in the national territory. The main journey is made by the Austral Highway, with over 1240 km, offering the possibility to enjoy the never explored places, big extensions of woods, numerous glaciers, lakes, rivers, canals, etc. makes it a jewel to discover.
The South Patagonia is the icon that this Region has shown to the planet, its landscape dominated by big plains, its rough winter weather and indomitable nature turns it almost into a myth, that each traveler wants to experience and add to their journal.- Today its beauty is protected in the National Parks, Reserves and Natural Monuments.-
South Patagonia takes in the Tierra del Fuego Island, the biggest in America, place in which developed and extinguished the Ona culture, aborigines of great appearance and rich cosmovision, who gave the name to the Patagonia when being named by Hernando de Magallanes as Patagones.

How to Arrive
Air Route. From Santiago to the Balmaceda, Puerto Natales and Punta Arenas' airports, and from Punta Arenas to the Porvenir and Puerto Williams' aerodrome.
Overland Route: From Santiago with the ferries that sail from Puerto Montt via Chaiten, Puerto Chacabuco and Puerto Natales. From Argentina by the numerous frontier crossings that arrive to the Route 40.
When to Go
All year long, check the availability of some services in winter, June, July and August.
Weather
• North Patagonia: Rainy Maritime. Marked by the precipitations most part of the year. Max. Temp: 18° C / min. 5°C (December) and max. 12°C / 2° C (July) Snowstorms in the high part of the mountains.
• South Patagonia: Rainy maritime above the occidental mountain range manantial, above the Pacific Ocean.- Tundra, with just a few precipitations and strong winds in most of the territory above the natural manantial of the Andes Mountain Range.- Microclimate in special areas. Max. Temp: 15°C/min 2°C (December) and max 8°C / min .4°C (July) Snowstorms and snowdrifts in winter in all the territory.
