This island, aslo known as Juan Fernández Island, 414 miles off the coast of the coast of South America. It owes its name to the story of the shipwreck of Alexander Selkirk, immortalized in the famous novel "Robinson Crusoe", by Daniel Defoe.
True to its description in the story, the island is a fascinating lost paradise, with an endemic flora and fauna that is unknown in other latitudes. Seventy percent of the plant species in the island are endmic.

VILLAGE TOUR (Self-guided)
A journey through historic sites such as Las Cuevas de los Patriotas (Patriot’s Caves), where the expatriated natives lived after the Rancagua disaster. Among them was Manuel Blanco Encalada, Manuel de Salas and Mariano Egaña. In the island graveyard lays the rests of the Dresden crew and the colonizer of the Baron de Rodt island. Santa Bárbara Fort and the cannon ball of the Dresden Battle.

SELKIRK VIEWIOINT (Self-guided)
From the village situated in Cumberland Bay, we’ll address to El Portezuelo hill, located behind the village. Going across a road surrounded of maqui and murtillas (myrtle trees), we’ll arrive to Aguas Buenas where we can appreciate the exotic autochthonous flora: Pangues or paraguas de lumas (myrtaceous trees), naranjillos, peralillos and juan buenos. During our journey, we can also esteem the diversity of the spot which is rarely boasted by the cachudito (Chilean crested tyrant flycatcher) and the red hummingbird’s song.

The sight captured from both island sides is amazing; their peaks are the real proof.

PUERTO INGLÉS (English Harbor)
Archealogical tour with guide. We will tour historic sites, visitng the cave of Robinson Crusoe and the sector of the excavations that have been done in search for the treasure of the famous Pirate Cornelius Web.

Sailing to English Harbor (Puerto Inglés)

EXCURSION IN KAYAK THROUGH CUMBERLAND BAY
You will be able to enjoy this adventure while gazing at the beautiful view of the landscape of this National Park and with possible company of sea lions.

SNORKELING, DISCOVERING THE SUBMARINE PARK OF JUAN FERNÁNDEZ
For those of you who want the experience of enjoying the submarine world of Juan Fernández, you will be able to do so wih basic snorkeling equipment. On land you will be able to find basic photographic guides, that will allow you to enjoy the marine fauna of the area. You can access this submarine park directly through a comfortable beach located in front of the hostal.
